A lot of car for the money, but ultimately weight, poor visibility and poor interior sort of kill it for me.

Car probably needs brakes, tires, suspension rebuild after that lap. And since when did GM build a quick shifting auto?
Here's the answer:
"Chevrolet testing has shown the ZL1 with the available 10-speed has faster shift times than the Porsche PDK dual-clutch transmission. In fact, the 1-2 upshift is 36-percent quicker than the PDK, while the 2-3 and 3-4 upshifts are 27-percent and 26-percent quicker, respectively."

I, too, did time in a Vega wagon when I was 16...have not been interested in any Chevy since then, but the 1LE has me intrigued...

i am getting a 1LE come spring time. Loud NA V8s are a dying breed. For a fun manual track car it's a no brainer. Can replace the whole car for the cost of replacing the frunk on my RS!

A torque-converter auto will never shift like a modern DCT, period. And by that I mean real-life shift time, not electronic signal shifting, or some other marketing crap like that. And second, there's no need for quicker shifting than a PDK. Yes, they could be made quicker, but reliability would suffer, so why?

Burning Brakes
Just watched the video and wow that was an impressive time. There were a few times that the driver looked like he backed off and didn't trust the car or the tires. Anyone know what tires were on there? He was definitely pushing the car HARD! I'm pretty sure the car got airborne 2 or 3 times. Anyone know who the driver was? He looked pretty relieved when the lap was over. He drove the wheels off that car. VERY impressive showing for the Camaro! But that was definitely at the limit, in stock form anyway.

Impressive Numbers! I remember seeing the 2011 near the paddock at CTMP.
I never took GM seriously back then. Seems GM are on the rise.
Clearly someone there is Spending money on R & D.
Although Corvette gets the acolades.
Now when they can last - not brake? Then they too will Win On Sunday.
Like Corvette has Last Year and in the past.
Seems Porsche R & D Needs to Step It Up.
Like the previous LeMans winne, the 98 Gt1 - Mid Engine design - this 2017 911 should make the season interesting,.
Driver: "“Drew Cattell, Camaro ride and handling engineer and driver of the hot lap. “
Tires: Forged 20-inch wheels with Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar 3 tires

This is a lot of car for the $

My experience with American automobile junk ended long time ago. Would not touch it even if offered for free.
Comparing to Porsche? Faster shifts with torque converter? Maybe only for rednecks.
