991 GT2 RS - Deposit

I've been on "list" for 2 years.....no deposit, 6 total on list as of yesterday. The deposit situation varies greatly from dealership to dealership so no consistency.

I'm not sure what dealerships you have inquired with but you might be a bit late to the party. I'm sure they will let you know. I'm not buying one but if I were you, I would get going yesterday. Best of luck in your chase.

I am #2, number 1 is a VIP. Not a huge dealer, I think my chances are 33/67, meaning I may not get a car.(due to small numbers like the R) I have been in place for about a year. There are several more on the allocation list at the dealer for the 991.2 GT3. I believe the concern with the GT2 RS among some I have spoken to is the belief that the 2RS is a 250K min. sticker car, and maybe 300K if the base is up over $250 and it is optioned with front lift, PCCB, etc.

I'd agree with the 300k Msrp optioned nicely.
I also would say they will hit $500k second hand initially, call me crazy but we'll see.

Crazy... one year in and the car is not even officially announced yet. I think the first footage was around March this year? I guess I'm just a newbie at this game... My dealer has already 10 people on it and still taking deposits!

You guys need to relax, even those the MSRP will be north of $250k (probably around $300k out the door) they'll keep building just like the they did the RS. Why the hell would Porsche want to leave so much money on the table? There's a lot of folks that aren't interested in the car because it's a turbo car so all of you that want one will get one sooner or later. Same crap will happen early on as did with the RS because most of the first allocations will go to VIPs and many of those cars will just be a flipping exercise. As more allocations keep coming out 12-18 months after launch, prices will fall back to MSRP.

The GT2 RS unlike the GT3 RS will be a limited edition. They're asking $250K MSRP for a brand new GT3 RS and there is still a wait list of about 5 people inline. It's still $50K above sticker in Dec 2016, after everyone got served already...
I don't even care about the value of the GT2 RS, all I want is to have the opportunity to build my own car with my own spec and keep it as long as I can. Sad that most of the lucky ones will flip it like they did with the R. And the R is not even worth $200K in my opinion... it's just a simple and pure 911 from 2016.
