Default OT: AiM Solo DL - What Camera & Software Works w/Mac or iOS?

I just purchased an AiM Solo DL and apparently the Smartycam and AiM software only work with a Windows PC. I have all Mac's.

Is there another software package that I can overlay video and use the Mac and iOS?

If you have a SmartyCam, there is no need to overlay. It does it for you so you don't have to overlay and sync your videos.

Also, your Mac can emulate a PC as well.

I have a Mac with Windows 7 installed. I also have software called Parallels which allows Mac OS and Windows to run at the same time. For example, I can have Safari and the Windows version of Micrsoft Word open at the same time. It works better if your hardware is upgraded. I have a solid state drive and 12 GB of memory.

Good point! I used Parallels on an older Mac and it was buggy and slow. Perhaps it is improved now and works more seamlessly. Thanks

Get VMware fusion. It'll run near native speeds on newer macs.
All the best loggers use windows. So just get windows and run in a vm.

Thanks. I am really not all that savvy when it comes to this stuff. This may be a silly question but does Parallels do the same thing as VMware Fusion?

Secondly, do I then have to purchase Windows to install on the virtual desktop?

Sorry for the noob questions.

yes, parallels and fusion are similar products. I'm biased to fusion :-) but they essentially do the same thing.
yes, you need an install of windows.
Quickie is:
install the virtualization product
Then, the product will walk you through installing windows.

Once installed, you start the software and it will boot windows automatically. Windows will run in a "window" like any other app on the mac or you can even get individual apps to behave like mac apps.

Really works quite well once you see it.
