Now imagine that motor in the next Vantage...
Anything AMG motor is pretty good. Even my taxi sometimes surprises me with its launch power when I'm already moving pretty good...
Makes the case for a GT2RS

You can not ignore the achievement. It does not mean I suddenly desire the car. It looks to be a darn fine specimen though
Not enough for me to surrender NA/Manual.

I am sure I'll drive it someday,I know I'd love to!
Now there are guys who live at the Ring and can hope to achieve that level, but I will never understand how that works for some : I mean,if you have to run a business,or have a job, have a family, how can you possibly spin at the Ring all day?! How do you pay for gas and tires while keeping the wife happy?!

The "problem" with the Ring is that you want to come back again, and again, and again... and again.
One could ask oneself why guys with 6000+ laps still comes to the Ring.

That MB time was the full lap or BTG?
If BTG then it's not faster than GT3 RS I believe.
Correct me if I am wrong.
Nevertheless it's great to have a choice and alternative to the recent Porsche BS with GT3 allocations.
MB GTS is a great looking car(not a fun of the interior quality thought). It's all subjective but people saying it's ugly are dumb blind.

Plated, insured and park near the Ring, not all dozen + of us will go at the same time, so we always have spares. Focus will be on same engine, manual gearbox and brakes. Cost <$5K per car. Sell or junk after the summer.
Taking deposits in January, cars will be ready and checked over by April.
3 car mechanics on my payroll will prepare and repair.
Street legal cars completely stock except for brake pads and fluid.
Don't PM me, e-mail me if you want in.

The MB AMG does nothing for me. Meh. The driving experience is "numb" and luxury sport coupe like.
Looks. Meh.
AMG values tank faster them Macs.

It is the same lap and driver where the RS was 17 sec slower (but the RS ran during 250kph speed limit and its real time was 4 sec slower at 7:32 and was calculated to be 7:28 without limit). Could be some inaccuracy here, but 17 sec is very long...

You can't compare "Bridge-To-Gantry" laps with the start/finish that most manufacturers (and Sport Auto) use.
It's only 'terrible' when the tires are cold. Once they get heat in them it's actually quite good (with track temps 10-30*F higher on a clear, sunny day it's actually 'ideal'. -And it's perfect weather for turbochargers!

True - I didn't originally realize that they used tire warmers...

AMG blends in..
S550Coupe same thing as S65 Coupe to average Toyota driver.
Buy them 2 years old with 5! Years Unlimited Miles warranty that is equal to new warranty that is transferrable.
Case in point bought car for wifey in 2008.
A 2005 CL65 604HP 735TQ. Best car I ever owned.
New 189k I paid 51k
Bought with 20K miles and besides new tires every 6k miles (wifey is German hates Mercedes) sold it for 41K with 60k miles.
My current taxi looking 2014 E63 paid $58k and warranty till mid 2021.
And as apposed to RS I actually have to look far enough ahead to make sure there's nothing in my trajectory. Torque is king.
Blah cars? Whatever. Great warranty, cheap awesome power and they cost nothing to operate unless wifey is German and thinks she's drive slow because she still drives the cars like the caRS she had in Germany, the throttle pedal was on/off switch to her 25 years ago....
