GT3 vs GT3 RS

Drifting
Do you guys get the plastic rear and rear-side windows in the US yet? I tried mine back-to-back with a friends 991 GT3, the RS is much louder inside, plus the gearbox makes more rattling sounds. Shorter gear changes and shorter paddle clicks...but the main difference has to be the low end response & torque. Also, I prefer the way the RS sounds up top from 7-8.8k. The 991 from 8-9k sounds, to me, like it's straining hard and has trouble hitting the limiter, whereas the RS feels like it's pulling harder and easily revs to the limiter. Could be in my head, but I always get the same feeling from the regular GT3.

It may just be my mind playing tricks but the RS feels more comfortable on the road than the GT3. It may have something to do with the wider track, not sure.

On track they feel very different. Pace, torque, grip, and especially steering feel and turn in.
Night and day.
Street they are both boring.

Interesting take on the two from Motor Trend, read the end of the 4th and the 5th paragraph, talks about the GT3rs and the GT3. http://www.motortrend.com/cars/dodge...he-911-gt3-rs/

my 2 cents
on road, rs more noisy inside, paddle clicks more positive, rear *** wider in lane, can't see as well out the back, that's it
regular gt3 in-cabin feel is highly highly influenced by choice of seat... sofas make the car feel much much more cush
on track, rs turn and grip is definitely a notch higher (more rubber, wider stance) and more midrange torque... though to me engine torque difference is not reason for faster laps... plain jane gt3 robot box just revs engine harder and pretty much keeps pace when accelerating ... BUT you can charge into corners faster, carry more speed and exit harder with rs

Strange I feel like the RS is a better daily, I thought the suspension was much more compliant on the road than the gt3. That felt stiff as hell on the road. The low end torque is nicer but not huge.
On the track it's pretty noticeable, the car is far more planted than the gt3 especially at the front.

Very odd, I have two of them and they look the same and same weight I think based on feel

Agree, given stock-to-stock comparison. But if you add wider rubber and some aero to the GT3 90% of the difference disappears. To make up for the torque, you'd have to add some Dundon headers.

I find the RS incredibly docile on the street. If it didn't have such a big *** (and I like them, I cannot lie), it would be much easier to get around on the street.
The RS really falls in liine with the Porsche marketing ethic:
- GT3: Street car for the track
- RS: track car for the street
- CUP: race car
