no problem
hahah - I'm kicking myself a little for not getting 918 because I actually really like the car. But truth be told I did not want it back then and only come to appreciate cars like that in the last year or two.

Anyway, any car can be had without a time machine. It's only a matter of how much. It's just that all this talk about it being easy got my hopes up. If it does take hours on the phone and hassle of trading in multiple cars, I'll be better off spending this time on my day job and then just getting exactly what I want and when I want. My irrational cheap side may feel bad but screw it.

a friend of mine has been on list for over one year and there is no guarantee that he will get it.

not on list now meaning no car, there are way too many VIP customers in Vancouver.

good thing I don't want a GT2RS, as I have no car to trade them.

Great combo.

Do an arrive an drive Cayman GT4CS with a west coast team like GMG etc.
Take in a couple of races.

And if you must have a weekend toy in the garage, then look for a 991GT2RS from any dealer you can find in canada willing to take your deposit. Try multiple. Like a lotto.... (or you could look for a something interesting like a pre owned 997 4.0L, 997GT2RS, 993RS, 964RS, 73RS, speedster etc..)
Personally, I think with a 991.2 TTS already in the driveway, a 991GT2RS wont be all that awesome. Both are 991 turbo PDK cars... too much alike even though they are different. Very cool however!

Buy your Cayenne local so you can get good service on that vehicle and it will also help you get service on anything else you own regardless where you bought it.

You could try to source your TTS from a dealer who can get you an allocation for a GT2RS.... But then again, if you buy it local it gets that much further ahead to get a local GT2RS allocation if it becomes available in the final hour. And there is no guarantee that a TTS from another dealer will get you a GT2RS...

If your 991GT3 is in USA, you might as well sell it down there and avoid import to canada.

My family SUV is a Macan, my daily car is a 997 Turbo, my race car is a GT4CS and my weekend car is every other Porsche in my signature depending on the day

Considering Porsche Centre Langley has (or had) 2 used GT4s in the showroom with an asking price of $160-$170k each, I wouldn't hold your breath if they're who you're planning to deal with.

Pallets of cash are easier to come by then time machines.
I've been on the list for. GT2RS for a long time, this time they will pump them out as fast as GT3RS, so I may be able to get one for MSRP.

For me it's a mix parts bin car more or less so it should cost the same as a TTS or a GT3RS plus a bit of Porsche tax but call it low $200's. If over $250k then the 3RS and the TTS become bargains.

So, I'm thinking (wishful?) that they will this time for for big volume of the GT2RS and charger MSRP OF LOW $200k.

The GT3RS screams better, but a used TTS on MPSC2, the right options and mods will make it already much faster then the GT3RS and more durable probably. Straight pipes will make it sound alright.

RS stands for fastest on Track..

The RS will be a $250k+ car and they'll make plenty for everyone who wants one, look at the RSs that they are pumping out. Could have saved myself $25k-$30k on the premium that I paid to get my RS had I waited another 6 months.

Yep, we think very much alike. I'm still intrigued about 675LT or the upcoming replacement for 650S, so we'll see where I end up.

Would be geat to buy you a beer and pick you brain about racing the GT4CS one day!

Isn't the 3-year 918 VIP program almost over? Now it would only apply to those original owners who still have their 918.

A conspiracy theorist might think Porsche is delaying the GT2RS until the 3 years are up. . .

I think they will MSRP the 991GT2RS for 15-20% more then the 997GT2RS MSRP.
(how much more was the MSRP 991RS over the 9973.8RS?)

I too anticipate more production/volume then the 997GT2RS series.

The hype of owning a rocket ship with license plate will most likey cause it to be $100k over sticker price.

I'm affraid you're right. But I hope I am.
The Dow just about hit 20,000. It could be 10,000 this time next year.

Or not.

It's simple, find the car you want, utilize a Canadian brokerage company to facilitate the transfer from USA to Canada at a max cost of $500, pay the 6.1% duty along with tranport and US to cad dollar exchange and...that's it.
If you are beyond a tire kicker on this objective, go to riv.ca, it's beyond incredibly simple, along with so many threads and google entries on this subject....
(To be candid, to be financially shopping and posting help for a fine Porsche such as a 991 gt3 (rs?) or 911R and unable to figure out how to buy one from the USA, its quite remarkable.

I'm in the camp of no limit on gt2rs.

997gt2rs/4.0/918 was sold during really tough times. Then number plaques makes sense.

We don't know if the economy will collapse before 991gt2rs launch, but I would guess the plan at the moment is to pump out as many as they can.

And what does this random rambling have to do with the point of the original post? It's not like 991 GT2RS are selling at/below MSRP in the US. FWIW, I imported 4 cars from US to Canada and one in the other direction. It's simple and does not actually require a broker if you know what you are doing. But no one was asking about that.
