I am curious if the Sports Exhaust is worth it. Also, if the non-sports exhaust has the flaps needed to utilize the Mech33 GPS system to pass sounds at Laguna.

Depending on the track, would a 718S be faster than a GT4? Same tires etc.

Not sure, but fairly confident that the GT4 would be the more satisfying track car for $90k (No options plus LWB's) and have better resale value. Use Re-71Rs on stock rims in stock sizes for lower running costs. The huge brakes would wear pads and rotors more slowly than smaller hardware on 718S (especially with Re-10 pads).

Depending on the drivers, 718S def could be faster
But it's basically same weight and 35 or so less HP.

Not more satisfying to me, as I want a PDK.

For me the GT4 vs Cayman S has a lot to do with manual vs PDK. I really don't think at PDK GT4 is in the cards and I want the PDK. Power is not an issue. The peak HP GT4 advantage will be negated with an ECU flash of the 2.5T. The torque curve already favors the Cayman S. I fully expect the Cayman S to be putting out over 400HP with very few and relatively inexpensive modifications.

The GT4 is sorted better for the track in terms of brakes and suspension. I'm sure the Cayman S set-up can be tweaked to close that margin as well. The main difference, aside from awesome full buckets, is the tranny.

IMO it comes down to PDK or manual. If you want a manual definitely buy the GT4. If you want a PDK you will be right there with the Cayman S and a few relatively inexpensive mods.

+1 on the PDK. I will primarily AX the car so the low-end torque and PDK is why I'm not looking for a GT4.

I can't decide on a color. I like the SB that you had on the GT3 with silver wheels. First choice is Carmine Red with satin black wheels but I don't think I want to spend the extra cash for that or Lava or Miami.

I loved my SBM GT3. Highly recommend the color. Got a chance to see Miami Blue at Porsche Fremont and really liked it as well. Leaning towards that. Other option is either GT Silver or SBM again.

Agreed with all above with reasons why the 718S instead of the GT4. I wish they made the GT4 in PDK, but they don't. At least not yet.

With the turbos in the exhaust path, you'll probably pass sound stock.

There is a YouTube video of someone in a new 718S hitting 99dB. I agree, though, that I was expecting it to pass sound. 99 is pretty loud for a turbo 2.5l

There is a BGB 3.8L X51 engined Cayman R with PDK listed for sale right now. Has upgraded brakes, suspension and LSD also (around $50k in upgrades to an already fantastic car!). I'd take that over any turbo 4-banger. Likely would be almost as fast as a GT4. Plus 18" wheels, the older brake calipers that are easy to swap pads with, better steering. What's not to like?

Resale would be challenging, which is why it's still for sale. Checked out the LA Auto show today, and maybe am considering the new TT-RS as well. It's a very nice package.

I am thinking SBM with biscuit interior. Also the GT steering wheel and painted rear intake ports. Of course all the sporty options, anything a must have I'm missing.

99 dB as measured by the Laguna sound booth?
