Default GT3RS inbound, what do to with my 16 GT3?

My GT3RS has just arrived and I have to decide what to do with my 16 GT3 which is heavily optioned minus the buckets.

Most likely I will sell the GT3, but curious if anyone kept both and why? Is there any reason to keep the 16 GT3 from an investment standpoint?

Also the car has less that 3k miles, I don't see to many 16 GT3s for sale. How is the market looking for this car? I am trying to figure out how to price the vehicle?

I kept mine. It makes a fun errand vehicle, does not get the same attention as some of my other cars. Not sure about the investment aspect, but I wouldn't use that as a criteria. I do think there is a floor so you won't lose to much keeping and driving it as you wish.

The RS does drive my much better imho.

List it at a fair price and it will sell quickly. My '15 sold in two days at just a tad below MSRP after 6K miles. I would sell the GT3 and put some money down on the next Gen RS.

I kept mine. The RS wont be driven as much. I love the look of both. Plus the GT3 has the 18 way seats that I think are way more comfortable than the bucket seats. both are great in their own ways. but do what you feel is best.

The '16's do seem to still be bringing a small premium over MSRP. I'd sell it while that is still the case.

Mass produced cars aren't investments. But here are a few things to consider if you want to play that game in addition to the normal ownership cycle of these types of cars:

- upcoming GT3 will have latest spec engine, which all indications suggest will be more durable than what's likely in your car. this will be discounted by the market. by how much who knows, but it will be a factor.

- there's a group of current GT3 owner's that would've preferred to have a manual transmission. That will add an additional layer of used volume on the market that otherwise wouldn't be there assuming the well-telegraphed manual option in the upcoming GT3 materializes.

- what's your view on the current economic/interest rate cycle?

- the first rule in maintaining "investment" value is don't rack up mileage, so what's the point?

Congrats on the RS!

Sell it, you're not likely to get over MSRP on a sale for it much longer.

yes, sell it. Drive your RS and have fun. ;-)
The newer GT-Cars 991 GT3/RS and GT4 will decrease value significant in the foreseeable future in my opinion.

Yup, especially once the 991.2 GT3 is announced.

Keep them all, just like Mooty! In all seriousness, keep it for a few months then decide. If it was me, I'd probably sell it if you only plan on keeping one.

I would sell. The GT3 and RS are too similar to justify keeping both and keeping the GT3 takes away the sense of "occassion" of driving the RS.

The RS will keep its value better than the GT3.
