Default Carpet fit after bar install

I got my harness bar installed this week and I want to check part of the installation with y'all.

In the area circled, should the center pad be flush or raised up. There is now a gap of approximately 1", easily big enough to get my fingers in. I circled the area in question in this stock photo:

I seem to remember it being lower than it is now, but I don't have anything to compare it to.

I appreciate any assistance you guys can offer!

It will not be flush, but it shouldn't be elevated 1" either. That specific length you've highlighted will stick up about a quarter, to a third, of an inch (about the thickness of the piece itself). You can dig your fingers into the sides if you really try, but not the top.

Good luck with getting it wrapped up.

Here are a couple quick reference photos.
