The rear diffuser is VERY pronounced I was told. If the R produces almost as much downforce as the RS in the rear with just the diffuser, and this car has both wing and diffuser, there HAS to be something in the front to balance it out. Canards probably unavoidable like you said...
I asked Walliser about the next generation timeline at COTA last weekend - "about three years"

The 918 is hardly faster than the ACR on most tracks - it just won't happen IMO.

997 GT2 RS smoked the CGT. I'm not saying new 2RS will be faster than 918 but I think Porsche can put down significantly faster times.

^^ 918 sold out. Porsche doesn't care.

997 GT2 RS had more power and much better tires vs the CGT

The ACR will stand as a high water mark for a long time (at least among attainable vehicles) ... despite all that there's no economic case for the Viper's continued existence.

I don't know about that. The last GT2 RS was also slower than the last 2010 ACR at several tracks if memory served. I'd hardly call it a failure. I just don't think Dodge registers on PAG's radar enough for them to care. I think it will be much faster than the ACR in the straights without question but I hope they also give it the down force and tire to at the "very least" go toe to toe with the ACR on a circuit track.

This will also have the GT2 RS being faster than the 918 at some tracks too as the ACR is as well. This is PAG so we all know they can engineer a car to beat any car. But the question is not if they can its if they care enough about beating a Dodge. They didn't last time so it remains to be seen if they will now. I truly hope so as Id love to see the Snake get some real competition from a non-hyper. The GT2 RS should be the car to do it.

I think the 991gt2rs will be an absolute monster. The spy shots show diffuser and BIG rear wing. Probably working hard to balance the aero in the front.
About 650-700hp and crazy aero hooked up to a brilliant 991chassi and super PDK.
Will be interesting to see what kind of front splitter and canards they will use? Or maybe improve the gt3rs fender vents for additional DF.

Agreed, and that goes for everywhere. How the hell do so many of these pictures get on the internet anyhow? Is it the test drivers (doubtful), the cops, or members of the public - and if it is the latter - how are they able to get that close to a law enforcement matter to begin with? Did the test drivers get ticketed?

Mandatory court appearance. The judge will determine the fines.

...FWIF ... three weeks ago a Ford GT mule was at the Marriott Avon. The GT I saw with me-own-two-eyes was parked in the Marriott's underground garage; floor one.

The elevation dynamics afforded with Colorado's front range, Great Divide, Eagle County (Vail) just to name a few lends itself to a fair share of manufactures' test mules. Some in convoy formation, some with miss-matched chassis & bodies which don't look right and the often camouflaged nose and tail vehicles.

Won't soon forget the 10 Smart car long convoy racing up and over Vail pass. Or the 7 or 8 Panamera convoy parking in Vail Village .... happens all the time.

High altitude emission tests, thermal tests etc., to name a few.

Yeah, they like to drive up Mt. Evans too (highest paved road in N. America, 14,200 ft or so)

+1. Agreed. ...
Those familiar with the I-70 highway stretch, know the posted 75mph limit is often exceeded by 15 to 20mph every ole-day of the week. A tier one Super Car status Ford GT clocked at 101mph is a joke...

More of a ultra-lite hearted PR stunt than that of a concerned high speed traffic violation.

I've seen plenty on 70 and know why they test here. Just was asking folks if they have seen specifically where they were staging for this sighting. I saw the Panny's earlier this year, Macans flying around the mountains, first FGT... In fact, I see a lot of preproduction cars doing doing laps in my neighborhood. Set street patterns every day, likely mileage runs since they NEVER speed. Used to see Mercs several times a week, now about once a month.
