Workshop Campaign?
Anyone else get a call from Porsche NA regarding a workshop campaign for PDK in GT3s and RSs manufactured late last year? Just got a call about a gear in the PDK that is not to specifications and therefore results in a clunking noise at times when shifting gears. Solution: replace PDK. Ouch!
Afraid to post this after all the engine failure threads and price tanking threads. I'm sure my GT3 is now worthless. Anyone willing to give me $55K for it???
How about I wait until it breaks if they're willing to replace it? It's not a safety recall....
They also assured me that my upcoming RS will not be affected by this issue. I didn't realize they tracked owners/buyers that well.

Have not heard from them yet.

I think that if your car is part of this campaign you should go ahead and replace it. Unless you're trading in soon for the RS,in which case you don't want to be out of the car until they perform the work.

My 2016 had a clunk or crunch upon delivery, low gear changes. They replaced the gearbox. I thought mine was a fluke, but I guess it's wider spread? The car has been fine since. Two days at Lime Rock in the first 1000 miles. Oil changed at 800. No oil use and no smoke so far.

I was just getting ready to service the gearbox, maybe I should wait, the new box should come with fresh fluid. My car falls in the date box but no notice yet.

I just saw a 16 GT3 (less than 2k miles) that is getting a new PDK installed now that fell within the VIN range. Started with unspecified noise and then the service action was posted and ... new PDK. Build was after my 16 GT3, guessing early Fall 15 build. Tech said a small amount of cars in the US fall in the range (~30).

I just called my mechanic and he told me only 38 US GT3RS cars are affected. Mine was delivered October (I think it was an early September build) and is not affected.

IS there a link to check Vin numbers?

Heck with that, you take the trip and tell them to order the parts. The repairs are on your schedule not theirs..
