Hope to meet at least one fellow Rennlister at the track this time around! I'm at the 'Ring thru Thursday, doing the Porsche Sport Driving School on Wednesday & Thursday. Friday I'll be running at Spa.
Anyone else?
If you tell about these things in advance, you will find more familiar faces there .
I was planning a euro delivery of a family hauler (.2 Turbo) with a ring visit but it's too late to get it before the cold and rainy season starts.
2 eventful days on the Ring. Day 1 was slow traffic due to weather conditions, I think 5 minor mishaps recorded. The Russians in my group all traded their GT3 RS's for Turbos to get some traction.
Lucky me nothing happened and 1 lesson learned in the "Art of racing in the rain"
Day 2; the Ring had a dry line after 1.5 hours and we were picking up pace.
By 11 am it was open driving and i managed 4 well paced laps before lunch when the track shut down for a little while due to "technical problems" on 1 of the instructors cars.
After lunch I had first draw on a Cup car ride with Alex Mueller, just wow.
This must be 1 of the best to experience at the Nordschleife.
After that another 3 fast laps with the final lap coming to an abrupt stop due to a significant "Einschlag" of a GT2. Very unfortunate.
Last lap guesstimated lapping times were around 7.35 - 7.40.
Can't wait to come back sooner than later.
As they say the Ring is like Malaria, once it is in your system it will never leave you.
