Another set of 991 GT3 seats done and shipped to a client. We're happy to extend the $125/seat discount to any new orders before the end of this month.

The Sportster CS is a nice seat, it's especially useful for car with multiple drivers as it is a reclining seat. But it is more of a touring seat. While the Sportster CS offers good lateral support, a fixed back bucket seat such as the Profi XL is much more focused on driver support. Most of our guys find the bucket seat to be more comfortable in the end (w/adjustable mounts) and much prefer the added support in the car.

For reference, a Recaro Sportster CS weighs 33lbs/ea whereas a Recaro Profi XL weighs in at 21lbs/ea. It's a bit of an apples to oranges comparison, however both are great seats and I can see why they are worth mentioning.

Very interested in buckets. These look awesome. A couple of questions:

I saw someone mention that if the stock seats were replaced (I have the 18 ways) with these then the airbag light would be on. Is there a way to resolve this? Wiring harness, etc?

Looks like there is a sliding options. What about height adjustment? Tilt?

Is there a harness bar for the GT3 that I could attach the belts to without having to do a roll cage? I've see just a bar in a GT4 and even in a Corvette. Anyone see option like this?

Thanks!

The airbag light can be defeated. A quick search should lead you to the process, we're also happy to help if you decide on a set of our seats. We use BBi & Cantrell mounts and both offer hight and rake adjustment.

I have to ask...what is your reasoning for harness bar instead of a traditional bolt-in roll bar?

Is it true that defeating the side airbag circuitry also turns off all other airbags in the car?

Not as far I know, but haven't had the "opportunity" to test this. Does anyone else have a definite answer?

Stgrt - I don't have experience with the airbag version of the Sportster CS. I can't find it listed on their website either, sorry.

But I do not want to derail this thread so thank you for checking. I just thought I would ask since the seat was brought up.
It's funny - on the US site the airbags are not listed, however the German site lists them. That would be a nice option for a 997 or 991 sports-purpose build. We could tailor them up with factory material for a nice fit.

US - https://www.recaro-automotive.com/us...sportster.html

German - https://www.recaro-automotive.com/pr...rtster-cs.html

Today we tightened up a few embroidery samples for a 997 S client. The cocoa brown factory Porsche leather is so choice.
