It wreaks of a mythical story passed along by friends and at beginning it was $500k and at end of line the number had grown to $1.3 million.....or of course a good ole classic prop story invented by some dealers that have 911Rs on consignment

911R (good car) + excellent marketing by Porsche (as usual) + car-crazed people with lots of money + speculation about high ROI = bubble

I would have thought someone that would drop $1.3 mil on an R would have been able to get an allocation somewhere. I think the R is pretty great but that price is insane to me. If that person is willing to spend that kind of coin, my thought is they would have done things by now to insure they would get an allocation.

If the guy had paid me a simple 10% finders fee (my mistake I really should be asking for more because the buyer certainly had more money vs brains).....I have one that I could have gotten for him at only $400k over Msrp.....apparently a bargain
