Not really.

Wife and kids not for sale.

However a benefactor may choose to lease my son as he begins his education at Rice U in Houston.

Hell I may even throw in a free 2011 RS.

Default Scammers & Flippers

I was offered an allocation at $20k + tax. The guy would not give me a commission number or the dealer. He had a story that he was friends with the Porsche family and wanted to protect his VIP status. He wanted a $15k. deposit up front. I asked for anything real. I asked for references. The references both knew him and couldn't say anything bad. But they also couldn't say he was good. Maybe it's true. But I wouldn't go for it. Scammer? Not sure. Watch out.

Then I had a "real" broker offer me $275k over for mine. Not PTS. I told him that he could offer me $2.75m. The car was not for sale. Not now and not in 6 months or whatever time frame it takes you to be off the Porsche "bad" list.

I've driven the car. It's a masterpiece. I can't wait. And I will drive it. No graveyard for my cars.

But don't be deterred. I'm certain some "R" DNA will find it's way in cars coming in the near future.

But but but...wait! This engine revs too fast for a manual transmission! You can't possibly shift as fast as pdk does! Who shifts their own gears these days?! Do you also like hand crank starters? Carburetors? Manual ignition advance?

Just kidding of course! This car is epic and you are lucky to be getting one! Enjoy!

Props for getting the R and it being a driver, but to think that the "R" will find its way into future cards is a pipe dream. GT cars are soon to all be turbo/hybrid/etc and will lose their soul.

one in EU, right hand drive. the gentleman is on RL. that's a real signal yellow
geoff's car, if you look closely has a pink tint to it
wlater's car has a hint of green under sunlight
so technically only one signal yellow in usa.

That, for you gentlemen, goes for an equivalent of about 600,000 US$!!

Default Show Me The Money

The 911R is the latest car Buzz talk. Everyone wants to see it in person. Soon we will be seeing them as they arrive and appear in the wild.

Just as any "Numbered" cars of any brand is highly sought after commodity, this 911R reminds me of this movie.

Am I correct that these 911R's will be selling north of $450k? If so, I would buy a 997 RS 4.0, 500lb clutch and all, before I would buy this. But I am sure I am in the minority on this. A lot of people seem to like the R. Different strokes....

I think Porsche is running at the heels of Ferrari.

Have you guys checked the secondary market lately?

How much a Ferrari Aperta cost? A cool $850K.

How about Ferrari F12tdf? Recently one went for a cool $1.54M.

Insane "Toys" they are indeed.

I've said this before and will say it again, Money is Good, but the Car is Better!

Drive safe,
