Keep in mind there is a difference between redline and optimal shift rpm. You do not want to shift a GT3 at 9000 rpm, especially in higher gears.

I mostly short shift the RS as I did with all previous GT3's.
Doesn't hurt lap time, maybe improves even?

I remember reading a study on this, and the finding was that, for most sports cars, you want to shift a little below redline in order to maximize acceleration.

I short shift the GT3 a lot, simply because I still haven't wrapped my head around 9K redline. May need to try putting it in auto to see how that affects lap time.

Auto = motor kill mode.
I can't imagine holding some of the corners near redline balancing the car..
