First day I already hit 7,000 rpm 😜. My sales told me no need to baby them since they are designed to be tracked right out of the box. I guess I'll ease up a bit but the glorious noise when she's opened up is too tempting!!

Funny you mention that, my dealer specifically told me not to go over 4,000 rpm for the first 400KM. Then they also mentioned to vary the speed as much as possible for the first 2,000KM. He explained that since the engine 'tuned to the limit' it requires a 'break-in'

Being Skeptical, I read the warm up procedure in the manual and it states clearly, to limit the RPM to 4200 for the first 2000km.

But I can tell you so far after 387km, I am dying to open her up!

Thanks! Love the LAVA also.

Absolutely, perhaps an RS day? I was hoping that new track out in Oliver/Osoyoos would be ready by now.

Thx

Exactly, the noise just starts at about 3500 rpm, and its killing me not opening her up! The other recommendation in the manual is to go for longer drives.

I have a road trip coming up at month end, that should solve the problem.

You don't need to break these things in...it's not 1980 anymore.

get out there and have fun. Don't waste miles putting around.

looks great in that driveway, cant go wrong with silver. Post your initial thoughts after you get some miles on it. I love to hear about people's first reactions and thoughts with the RS

First Reactions......

WOW, WOW, WOW

This thing is a beast! I have 900 km on it so far and have not gone past 5,000 RPM, I cannot imagine 8800! What really surprises me is how compliant it is as a daily driver. The acceleration and transmission are mesmerizing. All my friends, including myself, are simply bewildered by the speed of the PDK.

The buckets take some time to get used, not sure about long trips , but boy what a feeling when you are cornering at speed. This car is so planted, it truly feels like you are on rails.

I cannot wait for launch control, and some track time! 1200 km to go.

I need to get some perspective...1st-world problem here.
All I see on RL now is RS's. Ughh..its brutal! I want one, yet I just can't bring myself to pay the premium. So it's 'wait time' for me unfortunately. I'm so impatient though. Lol

CONGRATULATIONS on the RS bud. She's a beauty. Hope to not be far behind you.
Enjoy it!
