Rob, after seeing that last pic, I would definitely not worry about it. I would think it would not be cheap to replace either.

If anyone has the PET handy we'd know instantly.

Good luck.
Thanks!

It looks like it split at the seam, if you intend to leave it you should fill the gash with sikaflex and primer over once dried.

Hit it head on. Heard a couple of bangs as it passed under. Pulled over ASAP to inspect. Zero visible damage in front, which surprised me. No engine issues going home, but I kept an eye on the gauges.

I get home and jack it up. The pan directly below the frunk is damaged, and will need replacing. No other visible damage underneath. Nothing under the front lip, which I was expecting. I jacked up the rear and saw no dents or impact marks. Looks like the front pan took the bulk of the hit.

I plan on taking it to the dealer for inspection, and to get the cover replaced. Not a happy camper.
Let me know how it goes. I have bottomed out the frunk on a heaved section of road at dusk. Haven't fixed it yet. Prestige didn't seem too worried about it. I even questioned whether a paintless dent guy couldn't pull it out. That is soft aluminum there. I took the frunk apart, looking for a way to push it out, but no such luck

The issue is that near the back of that pan, I am pretty sure that the gas tank is back there, vertically placed behind the frunk.

Interesting. I guess I won't poke around in there and just leave it to the dealer. Yours doesn't look too bad, but it sucks regardless. I guess it is doing its job.

So the circled area in the photo below is the damaged portion, correct?

If so, I'm 92.5% sure, and am willing to bet as much as $.50...that is a portion of the actual body shell and isn't an easily replaceable part.

But I'm willing to be educated otherwise......

Yes, that is the damage area. No idea Mike, but we'll see once I take it in. Thanks for your help!

sorry Rob, it could have been a lot worse. Personally, I would just leave it alone and completely forget it ever happened. It sure does not look bad at all.

I'm with Mike, that looks like it's part of the body of the car. I would just leave it alone and wouldn't worry about it,it's not going to affect anything...

I had the same thing happen to me about 14 years ago with a brand-new GT 2..I had the car less than 24 hours and hit a rock.Broke every plastic panel under the car and bent up the transmission mount and put a dent in a cooling pipe on the engine.

Did the repairs myself cost me about 1500 bucks. When I hit it my heart stopped all I could see were chunks of plastic flying out from the back of the car. Happened on the way home from the track over hundred miles from home. Yours looks fine you dodged a bulett. Carl
