Default Crazy dilemma

Hey there my fellow members, I have the chance to possibly purchase a GT350R, but if I do this, I can't get the new 991.2 GT3 down the road. Do any of you own a GT350R? Do you think its worth getting that car and picking up a GT3 in the far future?

Thanks everyone!

GT3 .2 is not guaranteed. Many people here have commented on how cool the GT350R is. You can always sell it later if the .2 GT3 arrives. I wouldn't wait. Life is short!

If you can get the R at MSRP, I say get it now and then sell it if the 991.2 GT3 with 6 speed comes out.

Yes.

I don't own an R, but I have driven the regular GT350 (if one can even use the word regular to describe it).

It's a really well-put together car, esp. for the MSRP. The flat-plane V8, mated to that 6 speed, is really a thing of beauty. Yes, it's heavy, and a bit nose-heavy at that, but overall it's a nice balanced car with a nice chassis.

So all that said, I really do think it is worth getting the R now, and then getting whatever iteration of the GT3 down the road that suits your fancy. Every once in a while it's nice to experience a nice V8, esp. when you've been eating and drinking flat-6s all day and night.

I don't understand dilemma. But R today (at not crazy markup). Sell when 991.2 GT3 comes (for likely not huge loss). What am I missing?

If you don't want it and it is at a reasonable price I'll buy it. I have a regular GT350 and it is a fun car. GT3 is fun but in a different way. I agree with the buy it now and sell it later unless you are paying a high ADM.

What's a high adm? I have an oppty to build a gt350r for 15k over.

Thoughts?

Asking price on the R at the moment are more in the $40k over but I see car sitting except for a few idiots that really pay that price. The hype is already coming down since you are offered one at 15k over. Total number for 2016 is close to 500 units. And they will produce 2017 MY. So not as rare as the gt3.
I would say if you want one now $15k over is a good deal. Is it a 2016 or 2017?

I've been looking for an R with less than $20k markup for months. $20k markup is the lowest I can find, so if you can build one for $15k over I think it's good.

I know it's a Ford, but even if the Z/28 comes out better than the 350R, I don't see this R going down in price. As long as they really stop production in 2017 like they said they would..

Just heard back from the dealer; they want 20K over!! I think I can talk them down to 10K over, but it would be going against my "don't buy over msrp" mantra. I'll have to think about this because it would also mean getting rid of my C7 Z06.

Is that R a 2016 or 2017?

I think that it is a 2016, but not 100% sure. I can find out tomorrow and report back

They are gonna make 500 (minimum) gt350R's a year for 5 years (minimum) . You will not be able to flip it for over MSRP if (when?) GT3 rs comes out. But what are you gonna do? Not have either for 2 years? Go buy the GT350R now and enjoy it, but don't count on it as a financial investment, just enjoy it for what it is.
