Default UPDATE

Hello everyone,

I got myself a sound meter and went for some tests in an isolated area.

at 50 ft at full blast it was hitting between 87 and 90 db depending on the direction of travel.

So It should be OK. it's low enough that I'm willing to try it.

It 93.1 db when my sound guy was at 20-25 ft.

Finally it hit 107 when I did a Launch control start and he was less than 10 ft away.

So I'll go with the GMG center bypass to the tremblant PCA event and see what happens. In any case I still have to option of doing what guest89 and reidry did and shut the valves with a wire if they flag me.

I'll update it with the definitive answer after the event.

Wire the valves shut the night before when the exhaust is cold

That seems awful low for full acceleration reading on a car like this. Were you using a real sound meter or one of those phone apps?

Are you sure you want to run a full session with the valves forced closed? That's a lot of heat in a system that wasn't designed for that. Marty developed the original GPS valve controller so that wouldn't happen.

It’s that or take a chance of officials at The track flagging me for decibels over 98. Who’s Marty ?

Mech33 who posted above back in the day in this thread. I know a guy who ran his valves wired shut with turn aways at LS in a 2014 .1 and melted his rear valance at the outlet. You guys should look into the thread here on RL where Marty tells how to build a Controller or find somebody selling the Track Nanny.
