2 yr old GT3 with engine replacement and 8000 miles for over msrp? 2016s with the new engine and new oiling go for msrp or 5-10k over msrp. Why would anyone choose this car over a brand new one?

PTS Cars always go for a premium. This car is one of the only riviera blue 991 GT3's and I had 3 or 4 backups if this original deal fell through. I really wanted to pick the right buyer and the guy who's getting it is to the moon about it. He's had another older riviera blue car for some time.

For the cost of additional PTS "premium", you can wrap the entire GT3.... Twice.... Maybe a bit more than that (its around 3750-4000 i heard). And you can choose colors that look much nicer and rarer.

Listen, to each his own. I am all for GT3 and its rarity. There is a dealership here who has an old 997.2 GT3RS 3.8 for almost 300k. As a very senior salesman I know once told me, "you price something as high and as outrageous as you want, there will always be someone who will be willing to pay the price".

I remember 2 years ago I sold a Canon L lens for 2000. I waited 6 months for it, could have sold it for $1500, and it really wasnt worth $1501 because the market was exactly there. Same story, I waited and waited and bam some rich guy who had to have my particular lens for his hawaii trip paid cash on the spot.

Hope the new owner enjoys the car, OP certainly drove the car in 2 years which is the right way I think, I hate seeing 10 year old GT3s with 5000 miles. These cars need to be driven and driven hard.

You have got to be kidding me! That stinks. Seems like the problem would have manifested at all RPMs for it to be this major.

Here is why most people think the car was being sold at a fair price:

1. Porsche is not the easiest manufacturer to work with for custom colors, it's not as easy as handing your dealer $7,000 and getting your chosen color.

2. The GT3 is always in high demand, and there are many more customers trying to get PTS, which makes it even harder to get.

3. The GT3 is a very special car, and PTS just makes it that much more special

We are getting really close on the transaction. I expect the funds tomorrow. The good news is that she's going to another RL'er who doesn't seem to be able to sleep at night in anticipation! The car will be shipped to him. He's about 900 miles away.
