The RS has always been the faster, more special car. Maybe this makes it a little more special and different. Who knows? No one is forcing us to buy it over the GT3.

 

Its marketing especially when the weight saved is nulled by the heavy *** bigger rims.

Its just marketing to show enthusiasts and other brands that they used weird materials and fancy stuff with their new hot cake.

 

its all hype and marketing mostly. Or maybe porsche is using it as R&D to see how it holds up over time and plan to integrate it into more parts of the car in later models? Magnesium is definitely light weight, but not as durable as aluminum and it succumbs to stress fractures over time.. at least thats what i remember of magnesium wheels.

 

It's a sports car, not a London double decker. It's like saying, I'm going to remove the air feed from the top of my Kart helmet cuz it improves the center of mass.

 

Right. All the weight loss, roof, fenders etc all useless marketing making the car lighter.

Li batteries don't work well and set your car (and house) on fire.

I don't notice roof fenders etc. But I would miss AC and radio.

Everyone should do side muffler delete. Like the roof you lose weight where it matters.

 

At least, the same roof will be used on the 991 R

than marketing gold plating
useless and expensive to replace roof

once done the first 3 you start
with magnesium 1 kg here n there

but we know without the first 3
is marketing
for higher price positioning

good for selling reselling no difference in driving

Side muffler delete will make the car not pass many sound restricted tracks. Even WITH side mufflers the car doesn't pass some tracks sound limits. Like Zolder, Laguna Etc.

 

right and btw side mufflers are aftermarket things

I would buy an RSR a lot of Mg there

whatever the RS roof costs i would have preferred
Porsche working maybe on lighter pdk s
or doors etc.
