When you take into account what a great meal at a top restaurant costs and how it literally ends up down the toilet in a matter of hours, then using a car to its fullest extent over time is financially conservative in comparison.
Quick write up after 100 miles of short shifting.
It feels not slow but not rapid in the way the turbo s or Speciale does. I am short shifting at 4-5k rpm. The noise is sublime. I'm tempted not to do anything with the exhaust. The top end sounds malifluous, the bottom end is weak. This is where the improvement I fell can be made. The grip is unbelievable. The 918 has the same wheel size and tyres but 4wd and sticks like nothing I have ever experienced. This with rwd but rws and light weight is unbelievable. At slow to normal speeds the car feels a little numb. The Speciale feels lighter, nimbler and much more energetic. They are very different cars. The sound system, I got plus for only a few hundred quid is good
but not up to my standArd. I had a meeting today with auto audio. What I shook hands on is going to make you lot wince. I couldn't give a ****. Will take them 3 weeks to make and fit. It will be the best system I have ever fitted to any car.
The looks. Wait till you guys see it. This is no RS this is something very special. Not that an RS isn't but I think you will understand once you see it.
After 100 miles of short shifting I'm not qualified to tell you more than that. What I can tell you is is this was the car to spend all that money on. A total keeper and the most fun I have ever had speccing a car simply because of close supervision and contact I have had throughout the whole process. I tell you this is the future of special cars. The whole of Porsche PR and head office have been down to see it and are staggered by the result. What needs to be said is this would never have been possible without Matteo and Ricks support. For me this opens a whole world of opertunities. I'm very happy. The result is better than expected and I expected a lot
