Losing that much weight from aftermarket brakes is optimistic. If you're trying to lose weight on a 3200 lbs car, depends how far you are willing to go. Once the obvious things are finished in terms of wheels, battery, then you turn to fact that Gt3s have an awful amount if luxuries. Stereo, carpets, etc. etc. grams start adding into pounds, but not worth it IMO unless you are racing and can extract full performance from the car.
I get his point though. Most of us could stand to lose a few. Or More than a few.
His "ideal" number does not work for though. For example if you are 170 lbs at 6' tall, even at a very lean 10% body fat, you aren't carrying that much muscle mass. I would have so little body fat at 170 lbs that it would be unhealthy (well into single digit %).

As for the real topic here...yes...the GT3 does have some luxuries. But some I'm willing to give up while not others.
So, AC- I need AC! Stereo- I need my stereo. Carpet and insulation...this is one area I can certainly cut out (hence my OP).
I've already done the exhaust savings. And I'm currently evaluating the wheels.
I'm also looking into the lightweight battery. But damn! That's a costly battery!!

We can make a special bundle with RB/ST CCM front (save 12lb ea) and RB Iron rear light weight two piece (save 4 lb ea).
Iron rotor kit:
http://www.racingbrake.com/RB-Iron-R...por-irk-05.htm
This combo can save you 32 lbs but at about 1/2 of the full CCM cost (below
$7K).
Front only CCM option has become popular as seen on OE optional upgrade such as Mercedes C63 S, and BMW M3/M4 and RB offers the same to both communities for those who purchase the car with standard iron brakes but want better value than from OE.
The merit of this combo is that you still retain at stock iron configuration, which allows you to swap between CCM and iron run at lower cost than full pccb, or upgrade the rear also to CCM later.
Very flexible and save tons of unsprung weight and money.

Curious what is the goal for the weight savings: lap times? stripped race car? for the hell of it?

While I also enjoy the luxuries, there is not an insignificant difference from, say, tracking a Miata versus a Hummer stroked to make, say, 1500 hp.

It's not like the 3.8L has much room for more hp, removing cats etc aside.
There's a reason Singers are so fast with < 400 hp.
But unles you are racing I don't see the point in stripping GT3 interior. Or spending $20k for minor weight reduction.

I am thinking to ppl spending 100k to
save at best 20lbs and gain 24HP (RS)
Here we get 5 time more with 5 time less
saving 100Lbs on GT3 with 20k
in proportion who spent 100k should
have saved 500Lbs but got 20lbs ...(less than 5%..)

I see your point but it's a fallacy. People aren't spending $100k to lose weight on a GT3 by buying the RS. They are getting an RS. The weight delta is a byproduct.

Interesting discussion to understand what an RS is
Anyway the goal of this thread is to make a GT3 better
than what is now
and weight( without compromising overall performances)
is always number 1 issue for a GT car whenever the car moves out the queen garage status
otherwise what s the point to have a GT3/RS?
