What Is This Gage Icon?

The pictured icon in the lower left hand corner of the gage here came on and won't go off. I looked in the manual and couldn't figure out what it is. Any ideas?

Turn cruise control 'OFF' and it will go away.

Press the (only) button on the bottom left hand stalk on the steering column, then it will go away.

One last thing...an English teacher, I am not.....BUT...

it's spelled 'gaUge'....not 'gage'.
