I keep failing the GT3 garage door opener programming IQ test!
OK, I went to grad school, was a professor, discovered some drugs, and owned a business, but for the life of me, I cannot program my GT3's garage door opener! I read the other threads and tried all of the programming permutations, but I cannot get my garage door opener programmed! I get the 3 flashes from the blinkers following linking the remote to the car, but when I proceed to the step where the garage opener's motor unit rolling code communicates with the car...nothing happens. Perhaps the car is too low to communicate with the opener's motor head? Any help from smarter owners would be welcomed!

Your rolling code opener should have a programming button to press and an LED that activates or flashes when it goes into learning mode. Is this happening?
I've had issues in the past when the car I was trying to program was parked outside the garage but if it's in the garage it shouldn't be too low to make a proper connection.
Sorry, those are the only things I can think of offhand. If all else fails, try erasing everything by holding buttons 1 and 3 on the overhead console simultaneously for at least 20 seconds until the light over button 2 starts to flash. Then start over. Good luck.

Thanks guys. Doesn't it figure that I got it to work immediately after sending the post! I was not holding the button on the GT3 long enough during the last step. Thanks again!

I share your pain. I tried everything - Porsche's instructions. Homelink's instructions. Genie's instructions. I simply gave up and bought a cheap remote control to clip on the sun visor. It seems a shame that the (expensive) built in opener is so difficult, but I wasn't going to keep fighting with it. The remote cost $20 on eBay and saved me $Thousands in aggravation!

No issues for me. Was able to program it on the first try. After reading all the comments in this thread maybe I should go out and load up on Powerball tkts!

key here is 2 steps... first, I've found that the original remotes (not 3rd party or those small keychain ones) work best to teach the car.
Step 1 is to get the car and the remote to sync. This is where you get the lights to blink
Step 2 is to sync the car to the opener, this is where you have to press the button on the opener and then press the button on the car. Press that button a LOT until it "works". Sometimes it's 1 press, sometimes is like 10. Press it for a few seconds each time. Work fast as the openers go out of learning mode after a minute or 2.

I dreaded doing this because in the past with other cars like my wife's Mercedes I could not get it to work, so I took it to the dealer and they programmed it. For me the key was having someone else holding the remote in front of the car (in this case my older son) while I was in the car pressing the buttons we got it done the first time. I was surprised because in the past have had all kinds of problems trying to program the garage with some other cars.
