Lap times are very competitive. As for the RSR they clearly are down on power. Direct link to next gen of turbocharging of GT cars like EVERY other manufacturer????

It's great that it finally has the green light and while I have high hopes......if it proves to be a failure it will permanently stain the reputation of these engines both in racing and production cars forever.

Thanks for posting. He said "new...direct injection engine". How certain are you this is essentially the same as the 9A1 in the GT3/RS? More info would be appreciated.

And the world could end tomorrow. I think you overstate your case a bit. There will be teething problems and if they stick to it they will have some success. Direct link to Motorsport with the current gt3 is now a fact, how difficult or successful doesn't take that away and you can always claim the heritage. No stains from racing failures will impact the production car, it is now forever a racing engine.

I believe I read something on Autoweek that this car's engine would be based on the 9A1 GT3 RS engine.

There's also this article: http://sportscar365.com/gt/new-porsc...na-2016-debut/

Thanks for the link. I don't think I'm surprised this finally happened, but I wonder how many seasons the 9A1 will be around for.
