Just a regular grampa GT3 too, not an RS.

I remember when everyone made the run on the 997.2 GT3 RS and Porsche just kept on making them. The problem with this issue is time and what will happen in the future. It is as if GT3s are a Commodity. At those prices I would have to go retro and get an older say 993 Turbo.

But who knows where the prices will be on the GT3 model's in 6 months? Just don't feed the greed right now! Slow down and take your time, it's only a material possesion and a depreciating asset ultimately no matter what the dealerships are charging now.

I was in Scottsdale in November and stopped into the dealership. They offered me that Lava GT3 (which had not been delivered yet) for $50K over!

Just like LA, Scottsdale is full of people with lots of $$$. Somebody will walk into the showroom without doing any research and get BS'd into paying that for the car just because the SA tells them how rare it is then that guy will take it back to his 8 car garage where it will sit for year or so till he trades it back in on next years pretty toy.

Everybody knows the market is crazy at the moment.

But a mint 20 year old 993tt is still not selling at original MSRP. A super low mile, bubble wrapped could be at MSRP.

997.3 is still below MSRP. Less produced than 991gt3.

So if someone is trying to sell you a 991gt3 over MSRP and motivating it by saying it's an investment. RUN!
If you feel the car is worth the premium. Just buy and enjoy it.

People thinking that these cars are "investments" is part of the craziness in this market. Just like with the real estate crash where people said real estate can never go down, these people that buy them as investments need to learn the hard way that GT3/RSs are not investments...they are just cars to be driven and enjoyed.

How far is Sonoma from Scottsdale Arizona? I imagine that is one of the driving factor's for prices in that local. It's like going into Mill Valley on a Summer's Friday or Saturday Night... you would swear that there had to be a Ferrari Dealership around just the next corner.

For those who don't know about Mill Valley (and it's link to M.A.S.H the TV Show) it is essentially a hidden city in a valley just West of the Highway after one crosses North over the Golden Gate Bridge and has gone through the Rainbow Tunnel. A Lot of rich and famous Film and Music types' live in the area. Oh of course plenty of GT3's too. The last time I saw The English Beat was there at The Throckmorton Theater

Hah! There was a local 'well respected by RL' dealership here that was asking $50k over for a GT3 at Werks Reunion this summer... Not sure why this is news.

At least three of the six Bay Area dealerships have been asking over sticker for GT cars. Don't know about the other three. But it's not like it's unusual.

Just to make it clear, I already own a 2014 GT3 in white. Lava is what grabbed me and I'm mad I didn't get my RS allocation. Just angers me that these stealerships try and justify this. The salesman basically treated me like I was an idiot for offering what I did.

I think I'm just going to find a new hobby. Maybe guns or boats.

Resale value is not why I choose a car to buy. Drive it and if/when you plan on selling it, if it happens to hold value, that's a bonus.

Boat depreciation makes cars look cheap.

Don't boats depreciation even more than Mercedes? I have heard that BOAT stands for Bust Out Another Thousand...
