IF they built 2017 RS cars, that would crush the speculators and stealers sitting on cars asking $300k+. I'd for one would love to see that, even if I didn't end up a 2017 RS allocation.

My crystal ball (also known as the left one) tells me there won't be any 2017 RSs because it'll be the 911R using the mag roof/cf hood at that point. These are the constraints on the RS production and will also be on the 911R. 2018 GT2, 2019 GT2 RS.

Definitely logical. Slap turbos to the 4.0, replace RS wing with lower profile wing (GT3 wing?), use the 1RS body with the .2 refresh parts and you have a RWD GT2 with 600+ hp. Seems like an easy process that wouldn't need a lot of R&D (no mule sightings?) with a 2018 release.

To the OP....have you done ANY searching on this topic before posting?

I was Just in your boat only 2 months ago, but had been researching for a solid 8 months. There are PLENTY of threads on this topic.

Your best bet at this point (if you want something soon - like in the next 1-12 months) is to start looking for used.

Haha not quite as many as you but also GT3RS just in case.

Are you set on ordering a car yourself because if so as others have said it looks like this it it for the gt3 series one cars. The next gen cars could be at least 2 years away imo , do you want to wait that long, I did not and went ahead and purchased a 2016 car now. There are some still at dealers although they seem to be asking big markups as they realize this is it for the current production. If you don't mind waiting then try to get on a list for the next series and hope for the best.

For those of you who have asked.... Yes, I have read daily under "Today's Post" for over a year (I started the first thread on the 991R). I'm a current 991 4S owner and active member of my local PCA. I'm a serious owner/buyer and not trying to waste anyone's time here.

We are a collective body of information. Information from AP/dealers/Cleaning Ladies and opinion is always evolving.

Just wanted a refresh of our collective on a specific question (Isn't that the fun in this place)?

I do have an agreement for allocations on the 991.2 3 with a few dealers if ever produced. Till then (2 years, if ever, from reading above), looks like I will be looking into a lightly used 3 as close to what I'd spec as possible.

Ok...your original post read more like you hadn't done any research.

But, I'm now with you on your approach and appreciate it.

While I got a new 2016, I was unable to spec it myself and how I would have. BUT....to my pleasant surprise...the options that I would NOT have spec'd myself have turned out to be some of my favorite aspects of the car! So, best of luck looking for one that tickles your fancy!

Easy for me to say, but be patient. There will be more and more I believe that will come up used, for sale. You will find many with what you want, some not. Best of luck in your search.
