I have a question for other 991 GT3 RS owners...I just picked mine up a few days ago and I notice what I'd call a soft click (not like say a door latch sound, more like an air rifle shot) on each down shift...it's reasonably loud given I hear it very clearly with window down and not being next to anything the sound would echo off of. I didn't notice this on my standard 991 GT3. I've searched google and nothing, asked my tech at Rector Porsche and nothing.
Wonder if another owner has heard the same thing.
thanks...Steve

Yea I hear that as well. The engagement of the gearbox on downshifts is much more positive and not as "lazy" for lack of a better word, than on the GT3 or the regular PDK. I have 1800 miles on mine and it still does it so not sure if it will change. I do not think this is a problem, just another crazy noise that adds to the mystique of the RS.

thanks for the reply, sounds like the same thing...yeah, you'd think I'd get use to the crazy noises after having the GT3...but sure love the RS...how many miles did you put on it before approaching redline, nobody at Porsche will say the 2k break-in isn't necessary

I did euro delivery and the Rep there said it has to be broken in but his break in was 400 miles of varied rpms but keep it under 4500rpms, then add 1000rpms per 100 miles after still keeping the rpms varied. I completed his instructions to a Tee!

good one sgoer ![Smilie](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
and Onelio not sure I agree it's the air intake on those Turbo body inlets...it's is more like a metal clicking than what I'd call an air whoosh![Smilie](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
But I like all the noises as well....like I said that was a new one compared to my 991 GT3

It's a little late for you guys, but I finally got a good answer from my service tech, peace of mind:
It's the throttle valves flipping open to rev match the downshift. The reason it sounds so loud is due to the side air intakes in the fenders that are right by the drivers/passengers windows. The gt3rs is the first car to ever utilize those fender intakes for the engine air inlets. They have previously only been used for intercooling.
