Buddy of mine caught up with the cleaning lady, and this is what she bought to go shopping on the weekends. 8,250 rpm NA V8, 5.2L, 526hp, yada-yada. Don't listen to her. She helps spread these rumors that everything is going turbo. Helps Porsche & dealers make massive profits from those who believe this is truly the end of NA engines. Meanwhile...

AP was a jurno borrowed later to Porsche GT marketing
so he can say whatever (and he did consistently with his role )
About mega marketing, Mezger since mid 80s
was responsible for the McLaren TAG turbo engine from the mid 1980
He retired in 1994...
997 Mezger what?

"What?" is right, since no one has any clue what you're trying to communicate.

if i know that, i would be buying up ALL the variants that's going to increase in price then flip them. at such time i would have made enough to retire and keep both 997 and 991 variants.

AP says a lot of things. But about what he wants not what will happen.
Unfortunately for us, AP does not call the shots as to what type of car PAG (or VAG) builds.
The pencil-pushers do, and they tell AP to build them so us Porschephiles get weak in the knees thinking about them.
If the pencil-pushers decide that the 992 GT3 will have a forced induction setup, then you can be sure AP will proudly get on the podium, flash his pearly whites, and magnanimously announce that this is the finest normally aspirated turbo engine on the market.

^ i agree.
but what are "pearly whites"?
i have always wondered. IF the next RS/GT is NA how will it measure up with other cars. as is, RS is low on power to all of it's peers. yes i know, HP is not the end all be all measure (you are preachign to the choir)... but it is one of, if not the most important metric in the GENERAL automotive mkt. when bmw, ferrari, lambo, mc, etc etc are all going turbo/bybrid/paddle and maybe doing the ring in 6 mins how will a purely petro NA RS going to sell.... just wondering.
a gas/hybrid car is not NA in my mind.
a NA car to me is it eats petroleum and lots of it. no regen flywheel, no batter, no motor at each wheel....
if the above holds true, how does a NA car compete in tomorrow's brave new world?

PAG will dictate the new future after diesel gate

There is a purist view and a sales view.
Lets assume for a moment (incredible thought) that the next (ugh turbo) RS has a much better performance, sets Ring records, and the purists protest. Too many electronics,no manual.etc.
but...
Fastest RS.
well...will it sell?????
