19 inch track wheels

Looks great Josh. 19 in wheels should weigh less, and with 265/325 there will be more rubber. What tires have you found that have these sizes? Trofeo R and MPSC2 both have that size. Another plus, the overall tire diameter does shrink, so you will have an effective change in Ring/Pinion.

265/35/19 R7's have been around forever. You can find them here;

19s allow one to run wider rubber 265/325 without any rubbing issues, allows for lighter wheels vs 20s, should improve comfort in the street from thicker sidewall, allows for more tire choices (MPSC2, Trofeo R, Dunlop sport max, continental, Hoosier R7s), changes the effective gear ratios due to being smaller in diameter, and look more motorsports like as compared to the 20s. You will have speedometer error and lose top end speed from the smaller rolling diameters. The car will also be lower to the ground, so probably more front lip rubbing. The lower Unsprung weight, in theory, should improve braking and acceleration. Because of the high limits of the GT3, unless one is an exceptional driver, he may never notice any improved lap times. IMO, a good driver should be able to improve lap times with 19 in wheels and more rubber.

1. I don't follow how the car is lower by using 19's? Is that because to overall diameter is shorter? Also affecting the speedo.....
2. So there's no merit to additional sidewall rubber helping with the 'rigors' of tracking/racing...?

Gotcha... So I get all those points. Here are two follow up questions-
1. I don't follow how the car is lower by using 19's? Is that because to overall diameter is shorter? Also affecting the speedo.....
2. So there's no merit to additional sidewall rubber helping with the 'rigors' of tracking/racing...?

2. I have never seen anyone give info on sidewall and improvement. One thing to acknowledge, is that the sidewall is part of the suspension. A 15 in formula one tire is different than an 18" Tudor series race car tire. If one races at tracks with substantial curbing, then in theory the thicker sidewall protects the rim of the aggressive driver banging off curbs and also decreases energy applied to the other suspension components. Weight of the car comes into play too. A super light F1 car deflects a sidewall different than a street car due to weight. In drag racing, the taller sidewall is used to increase frictional grip at the line, and in off roading, taller sidewalls are used to allow for low PSI rock crawling.
