Hey all you track rats...
I just joined PCA and plan to attend as many driving events / classes as possible.
Now the question... I always get all my cars windows tinted pretty dark.
What are the 'rules' regarding window tint and HPDE and Club Racing?
Any advice is appreciated.
Thanks.

My opinion, I would not tint a track car. Side windows down as noted above. In overcast/lowlight or rain, I want to be able to see through the front and rear. Dark tint would reduce vision. The wing already obscures rear vision a little. I want to just glance and see what's behind. Do I need to plan a point? If I see a red/yellow/debris flag I want a quick mirror check before acting.

Good insight and points guys!
I would tint the front windshield FYI. Except for the visor at the top.
And I've been driving with tinted windows for over 20 years. Honestly, the only time it can be a little challenging is backing up at NIGHT. And in which case I just roll the window down.

Tinting is a must for me after living in FL, NV, & TX over the last decade. I had a tint on the front window while living in Vegas, but it was a specific tint for front windows that didn't darken the window. One caveat is that I never go with extremely dark tint regardless of law (35-40% even if state law allows for 20%) so rearward visibility isn't too terribly impaired. And with the mandatory windows down rule on track, visibility through side mirrors has never been an issue for me.

I'm thinking I'll go a bit darker on the sides vs the rear.
