Default RS Transmission Leak

My RS arrived three weeks ago and has done a little over 300 miles. Yesterday pool of fluid under rear and diagnosed by dealer as transmission fluid leak. They heard from Porsche this morning and were told to pull the transmission and check source of leak. There is only one seal that is serviceable and if that is not the leak then Porsche will replace with new transmission.

Any similar experiences out there?

Hello JoeGT3rs,

Sorry to hear about your quandary. I have a 991 GT3RS and have no leaks whatsoever. If your dealer have analyzed that it is transmission fluid, how soon will you get a new transmission replacement?

I hope it gets fixed properly so you can enjoy her. Please keep us posted on the developments. Good luck.

Drive safe,

Sorry to hear about that.
There was this gentleman who's had a similar problem with his GT3 PDK-S,but you don't read about these problems too often.
Hopefully you'll get it fixed soon.

That because they won't sell them to you, not because the gearbox is especially hard to service.

But like others said these things are rare.

Remember the 2007 rear main seal problems? My SA said it is not a leak. Car was simply marking its territory.

I had a leak in my transmission and oil leakage.

No transmissions stocked here in U.S. and took about two months to replace.

Porsche took very nice financial care of me as well as replaced trans.

My tech told me, the info from my trans actually helped engineering redo whatever they did for fixes on all other cars? Whatever that meant?

I had a transmission leak on my 11 GTS. I found it at around 1000 mi. Mine was leaking around a bolt on the side of the case. There was something about the way that particular bolt mated to something inside the case that caused the leak. I got a new transmission.

It wouldn't be. 911 if it wasn't marking its territory.

slight OT: is the 991.1GT3RS PDK same as the 991.1GT3 PDK?

or even further: How similar compared to the 991.1C or Turbo PDK´s?

For me it's about in the used market when you start actually running these cars hard at the track how do you service wear items - buy new gearbox not a great solution

Suppose you guys will come up with solution to this though - could be good business when warrantees run out

Or just buy and extended warranty when the OEM warranty expires?

Can you buy the extended warranty at that time or do you need to buy it when you originally bought the car?
