Hard to believe Porsche won't be effected.
VW only has so much money to go around and it just got a lot less.

Agree that a number of departments at all VW levels including PAG will be affected. Hopefully R&D as well the racing programs will be spared but very much doubt it.

Almost certainly it will negatively Porsche.

In particular, I expect GTx and Motorsports to suffer. Niche product. Macan, etc. will be fine.

Right.

What percentage of Macan/Panamera/Cayenne or even 991/981 buyers could tell you anything of substance about:

Le Mans/FIA WEC
Weathertech Series
GT3 (RS) in general

The big VW fraud will push regulators
to more stringent rules shutting down
effectively the race like engine to be streetable

in other words so far the GT were doable to holes
here and there in the policy which sports car could benefit

but VW didn t use for their mass cars the holes (not sufficient)
but an electronic system designed to cheat

killed themself and the GT business as we knew it

how so? Why do you think it would affect the GT cars? The problems have absolutely NOTHING to do with the GT cars. it's all TDI (for now, unless something else comes up that we don't already know about). In my opinion, the GT cars and the R & D have already paid for themselves. If they are to add anymore GT cars to production such as the R and the rumored RSR street cars, they would be high margin cars being parts bin specials. They could make 5 - 6 times or more of the profit of what they'd make on a normal C2. Limited edition of say 5 or 600 numbered cars for an RSR and say 800 R's. that adds up to a lot of $$ and possibly the same profit margin as selling 4-5,000 C2's. That's definitely worth doing. So if anything, this may actually encourage Porsche to produce some very cool limited edition cars in which will be high profit margins as well as keeping them exclusive.

maybe cause current regulations
are full of holes permitting to GT NA
to get homologated?

and maybe cause "thanks" to VW fraud
these holes will be closed by regulators?
