Default GMG Prepped RS's Test at Thermal vs 458 and Huracan!

I can't say enough about how capable the RS is over it's rivals from Ferrari and Lamborghini. After tracking 2 RS's against a 458 Speciale and a Huracan, I have even more of an appreciation for the RS.

Everything worked so well on the car, the brakes, the transmission, the drivetrain, the diff, etc........

On the South Palm Circuit at Thermal, which is approx 1.3 miles, the RS was quicker than both cars from Italy and it did it with zero drama.......as in I had to work hard to keep the 458 and Huracan on point where the RS could take all I could give it.

Most impressive were the brakes in the RS as I was able perform threshold braking maneuvers into the hairpins at Thermal but then modulate accordingly. The Italian boys had very stiff brakes at full ABS and it felt like the dreaded ABS ice....

And obviously the RS comes off the corner so well with its rear weight bias but the RS was just so controllable, with no drama where the 458 was always fighting for rear grip and the Huracan was understeering in, mid and out of the corner.....

We will have a more formal writeup and video recap in the next week or so but I thought I would just share my initial thoughts from the day.....

James,

How was the angle of the LWB head rest and your HANS/Helmet? Does it feel like it's making you flex your neck?

The LWB does sit too straight up for me, I couldn't race this car with this seat but lapping is no problem.....

Nice review James! I drove a Huracan and was impressed about the power and handling was not that bad, can't wait to try out the RS when it arrives
