Default 12v socket for battery charger.

Hi guys,

I found only 2x 12v socket
1) inside center compartment
2) and passenger compartment.

Only 2 ? Not convenient to plug the battery charger , everytime you need to have door open as well as compartment too.

On ferrari you have special in the trunk.
Maybe there are more 12v sockets ??

Thanks

Plug it in to the cigarette lighter socket and close the door there is enough soft rubber gasket at the bottom of the door and the door frame.

What kind of charger are you using?

Not to high jack this thread but the battery in the GT3 has got to be very strong. My Volts are always over 14 and close to upper limit red marker.

What is every one else displaying?

By using this method do you kink the cord on the charger or on the soft rubber door molding?

When the door closes, does the power cord pinch a bit, leaving a permanent mark.

Sorry I misunderstood.
The cord does not crimp. You have to avoid the locking pin in the door that fits just below the door sill. It is just to the rear of the GT3 door sill logo plate.

Thanks, I will give that a try. Right now I just leave the passenger side window down 1/2".

I connect the CTEK charger to the battery using a permanent extension cable fitted to the battery posts. The cable can be run out either through the gap between the hood and windshield or through the gap at the front of the trunk. Using the power sockets can be unreliable as the connector is not always a good fit for the sockets.

They certainly are, so what I do is slowly turn the connector 1/4 turn or so until I feel it is somewhat locked in place tightly. Ever since I've tried it this way it's always remained connected.

After watching this site I am confused. What am I doing wrong? I Use the Porsche charger plugged into the cigarette lighter with the window cracked and the car locked. Have done it that way for 15 years. Only replaced one battery on a 993 when it was 8 years old.

Quick Reply: 12v socket for battery charger.
