I have no idea why on both the 991 GT3/RS people keep on assuming these cars have engine issues.

Yes- I have read all the threads but the only confirmed engine issues were back in 2014. I know there have been a couple engines here and there but where is the smoking gun

My 2014 has been just as worthy as any of my other Porsches. Other than a thermostat replacement there have been no other issues

I don't know the extent of the engine issue, it may be very limited and may not be the cause for the delays. I do know of a recent 2015 engine seizure. This was the second issue for the owner, he had a 2014 that he was advised to stopped driving. He asked for and was granted a buy back on the 2014 and promptly ordered a 2015. After following the Porsche break-in procedures he had the engine seizure on his 2015. Porsche has approved a new engine, but it is not a quick fix.

i do not think is the engine design but considering a lot of
annoying events related to the assembly they have to review the entire production process
and bingo the quality check failed for sure

LWB OR ENGINE ISSUES.
i said it before 991. it took germans 50 years to get air cooled cars more or less right.... so by 2050 or so... it will be just perfect.

we must be patient.

Yeah, shake all the gremlins out for me. If the engine blows up, get a new one put in for me before I buy the car.

^This
after all we can t pretend the germans to
think too much , 1 think all follow executing regardless
this is their strenght and at the same time their weakness

that s why to help them a little
on the poll 4.4 L flat-6
is winning

Anyone else with a similar story or just unlucky me!!
Is the production of your car still delayed due to the buckets? I was recently allocated a GT3 and my sales rep thought the LWBs would delay my order by 11 weeks (as that is how much his previous customers was delayed), but found out they only added a 1 day delay to my cars production and will be delivering in December

I was at the dealer yesterday looking for a new toy and I was told the issue for the RS is the roof. Because the production of these specialized cars require massive supply coordination with various suppliers, one part can delay everything. First was the buckets and now the roof. Thats what I was told.

Thanks for the update. I have not talked to the dealer since September 22nd and will follow up in the next week or so. It's Thanksgiving in Canada on Monday and prefer not to think about the car for now!https://rennlist.com/forums/images/icons/icon10.gif
