Default GT3 front axle lift question

Hey guys,

I am currently number one at my dealership awaiting an allocation for a 16 GT3. I was wondering if someone could give me a measurement of the clearance between the front of the cars lip and the ground, with and without the lift activated. Reason I ask is because the 997 TT I had would only clear the driveway backwards only by a mm or 2, and fearing that the GT3 has an even bigger overhang, has me wondering if I need some sort of ramp system for the GT3.

4 1/8" down. 5 5/8" up.

I'd get lift. Other than the cost no real downside. Weight doesn't affect performance unless you're a super-pro driver IMHO.

Just an example from today - took my daughter to school for SAT test and first time I'd been there since they made changes to the parking lot. They now have a one way system and I couldn't get out because of the angle even with lift. Caused chaos by having to back out the entrance against the traffic!! Got a lot of pleasant gestures from other parents!!!

It will also depend on your setup and keep in mind the suspension will eventually settle. Because I have a lot of negative camber and because my suspension settled from track use, I am at 3.5 inches without lift and about 5 with, so definitely a must for me.

Thats funny! I thought the 991 cars were suppose to be more civil around town, including the ride height.

Thanks Sam!

I don't really know if I am going to track the car just yet. Im probably gonna keep it the stock set up and enjoy it in the fine back roads.

That is very funny! It probably gave all the soccer moms in their mini vans reassurance in their mind that they made a smart purchase

Or seething husbands after the wife telling him, "See, told you so. Those cars are impractical. You're not getting one"

Haha!
So true, that somewhat happened recently in the front of my house as I was in the driveway, a couple was walking by and he stopped to talk to me....she told him "look at it honey, because you are NOT getting one"!
If I were in that man's shoes, I would have went home and contacted my lawyer and filed for divorce!!!!!!

Sounds like poor girl was probably just jealous that your 3 was hotter than she.

I just let the front lip drag from time to time. I've had more than one occasion where an unexpected dip in the road dragged it anyway, and the lift wouldn't make one bit of difference in those circumstances. I'm not planning to drive like a ***** everywhere to avoid damaging a part that costs 200 bucks
