Good morning Everyone,
For those who have owned Ferrari's, we all know they pretty much ALL hold value after some time. As an example, please look at the Ferrari 275 GTB., or the Ferrari 250 GT Lusso among many others. For the Porsche brand, a good example would be the 2005 Carrera GT.
We have seen and still is, holding value on the limited production run 997.2 4.0 GT3RS (600 copies world wide). The new 991 GT3RS is "Bubbling" in equity simply because of two things: First, from a performance stand point it is better than its predecessor (e.g., 997.2 4.0). Second it is a matter of supply and demand. There aren't enough copies of this highly coveted 991 GT3RS for all the Porsche car enthusiasts who have the finances to afford one.
If you can get them as close as possible to MSRP, then you got it made. If not, consider it part of the privilege and fun of owning one even if you pay however much it would cost to go get one.
What I can say about this car among all other cars I have owned and driven, this by far hands down is the KING of the track.![thumbsup](https://rennlist.com/forums/graemlins/bigok.gif)

One can win DE 99% of the time with a 997.1 GT3 no need for the big toys
Hard to decide what one would actually do with a 991 RS - it's literally just too fast to be much fun on street or in DE

I agree with audipwr1. Driving a 991 GT3RS on a track event would be like having a BAZOOKA and trading shots with people having WATER GUNS. ![rockon](https://rennlist.com/forums/graemlins/rockon.gif)

Besides, in the hands of an amateur, at a DE event (or even club racing), the driver is what sets the cars apart and makes most of the time difference. I've just witnessed a GT4 go 2 seconds faster than anyone in a 991 GT3. Including mine. The talented driver of the 991 GT3 will eat the lunch of a less talented driver of the 991 GT3 RS.
At any rate, I have a hell of a good time in my Cup car at DEs and I'm something like 7 to 8 seconds faster than any 991 GT3 at Thunderhill (so far).

It takes two to tango. Ergo, first you need a well equipped car (e.g., Factory racer, mods, tune, etc.,). Second, you need a skilled driver.
GT3RS is a beast and in its league by its own. You need to own and drive one to know how and what this car is all about.
I am not a professional race car driver. I consider myself a novice if anything. But owning and driving this car at the track, simply elevated my skill set significantly.![thumbsup](https://rennlist.com/forums/graemlins/bigok.gif)

I agree once again with audipwr1. For those who doubt what this latest and FEROCIOUS BEAST, 991 GT3RS can do, this video is widely circulated now and see the feedback and ratings posted at YouTube by EVO Leaderboard.
ENJOY.![thumbsup](https://rennlist.com/forums/graemlins/bigok.gif)

I also HIGHLY doubt the RS will be even close to 4 seconds on any given track. Some of the early tests are quite disappointing and with the reduced rev limit and Porsche's seemingly clandestine production halt there is much doubt in my mind about this car as a true track car. This also leads me to wonder where the 991.2 GT3 will go. As mentioned if they stick the 4.0 liter in it with its down chipped ECU it is I have heard over 10k north money than the 991GT3 motor. So that is unlikely. Where do they go from here?? It would seem at least possible that GT3 goes to Turbo and maybe RS stays NA. We are in a very uncertain area of transition right now.

The math is very interesting to work out. And I will admit that it works out in your favor. However, in reality, I simply do not believe the car will go that much faster. My guess is more like half that, or even less. My recollection is that the 997.2 RS was about 1, maybe 2 seconds faster than the non-RS version at Thunderhill.
Meanwhile... I'm off to research what the B2G times were of the 997.2 generation cars.
