91 Octane :(
For those that live in a ( max 91) octane State, are you adding racing fuel ( 100 ) octane every other fill up ? I noticed the gas fill lid states minimum 93 octane but after calling PCNA I was told 91 is fine. I am pretty sure the ECU will retard the timing automatically as needed. Just wanted to see how others handle this 91 crap in their tanks.

the ecu will adjust timing as necessary. but you will take a slight power hit. its ok to run 91 in a pinch but i wouldn't make a habit of it, definitely wouldn't track a car on it.
you can either add a splash of race gas every time you fill up. Or buy a drum of boostane and add it to your tank every time you fill up.

According to the driver's manual, the 911 GT3 will operate properly with a minimum fuel rating of 95 RON. Which means that for gas stations in Canada (and I believe likely the US too), a 91 octane fuel at the gas pump is enough. A rough rule of thumb is to subtract 4 from the RON rating to calculate what octane you need at the gas pump.
Using fuels with a lower than 95 RON (lower than 91 octane) rating could reduce performance and increase fuel consumption. They also recommend not driving at full throttle in a such a situation.

Not everyone in CA. I buy 100 octane several times a season and store it in 5 gallon containers. Before an event I blend enough 100 with the 91 in the tank to bring the average to 93, which is what is required for maximum performance. For the street, I just use 91 as the small performance gain isn't worth the cost or hassle of buying 100.
