Nah, both GTR and GT3 sound like old school bus when driven slow.

Point #4 is weird... who cares.. we are talking about how the cars drive..

It actually isn't a weird point. A rather valid one, in fact.

Part of how the car drives, at least in this thread, goes hand-in-hand with owning the car.

its pretty annoying when everyone at the car meet wants a ride, or trying to run you in their gutted mustang on slicks. my facebook friend request box is full of 18 year olds guys lol.

i feel the gt3 would be better at flying under the radar. most people think ' oh its a porsche' not knowing the difference between a 06 carrera and '15 gt3. with the gtr i've heard people call it everything from an acura, to 'is that the new mustang', to a guy telling his girl that its the new maserati.

If you won't track it I really, truly don't get owning a GT3. The ground clearance, lack of torque, rough ride and lack of rear seats are compromises not worth having. Even my wife who drives a 997TT called my GT3 wimpy. She is all done at 5000 rpm and the GT3 is just starting. But on track the ability to pound relentlessly with no overheating or fade is sublime.

I see. Well I don't tell the world that I had a GT3 on facebook. And I don't talk to stranger in gas station either. So those were not the concern. I do get same amounts of thumbs up by strangers driving by, and I usually just smiled back and ignore the rest. If the guys want to race in his super duper XXXX (fill in the blanks here), I will slow down.

The car is for me and me alone.

I would agree with others here... If you have to ask...prob not.

And DEFINITELY NOT a good daily driver IMO.

For me... 2014 M5 for the daily and 2016 GT3 for the road & track toy.

EXACTLY why I don't go to general car meets/shows anymore. I prefer SMALL cars and coffee with like-minded folks.

As for the 991 turbo, i feel it would be too similar to the GTR with the awd+turbo+pdk. Sure, its nice to have a modded car that can out accelerate sport bikes but i think i'm over that now.

Hashlak -- there aren't really any mods for the GT3 like the GTR. If you want to make big power this is not the car.
Yea fair enough, anyway deposit is down and theres no going back Ive had my fun with big power in the GTR and im more inclined to do trackdays in the GT3 RS.. We have a mclaren 650s sitting around at home so thats the street car for me

This is exactly what I did. Drove a Cayman GTS, Turbo S, and GT3 all back-to-back in Vegas. I had a GT3 on order within a week after... 'nuff said.

I didn't know anyone over 18 seriously uses facebook

I say "no" to the original question if you don't track. I have more fun driving a car with a manual gearbox on the street

Agree the GT3 is clearly more for track use.

If you don't track and like plenty of torque and hp....and want a 911, get a turbo. You will be much happier. Of course you can have a blast tracking a turbo too.

Default is the gt3 right for me?

Turbos are also much less involving from the drivers perspective. Less precise and more cushy.
