Hmm, maybe it's a different one. The one I saw 3 weeks ago was a 2015.

BTW, thanks! I do love this car.

What a joke. Like it's really worth 2x the price of a GT3? The RS market will cool off. Don't worry. Not saying you'll ever get one off sticker, but come more allocations, the 100K will be a thing of the past. Way too much money out there and guys just wanting one because it's "hard to get". Once another "it" car comes along, things will cool off.

Any mark up paid to a dealer will be lost down the drain at some point.

I don't want an RS bad enough to pay $300k...that's stupid. I'm more than happy with my lowly GT3 that I paid less than half for. I'll just wait for the .2s to come around in 2-3 years and they'll be better anyhow.

Same car, they just listed the color incorrectly. It is Arena Red, one of 10 built for a special run ending the 2015 model year (see the sticky in this forum.)

Agreed
At 300K two GT3s is much more attractive than One rs.

I'd go gt3, gt4, and with the $50 left over get a new gt350. The wing, roof, fender vents, extra output/internal modifications, etc. are only worth so much.

Allocation is gone of this morning. There was plenty of interest once it was made generally available to all sales.

Yup, big time...GT3 + G4 + extra cash for mods/track goodies > RS

Update for everyone.

There was alot of people contacted me for the allocation but no one from the forum took it. Dealer announced on Saturday morning it was available and someone local took it in 15 minutes after announcement. I will be getting my deposit back today.

Something comical to me was the amount of emails I got asking me if this was for a gt3 RS which I couldn't understand since there was no mention of a RS on my thread. Then I started getting emails for is this build was for a GT4. This really blows my mind

I find it comical that you would only state "my allocation available" and give NO specifics. You made NO reference to a GT3 either to be fair.

Seeing people are seeking allocations for RS's and GT4's, what is so comical other than your post which wasn't specific? There is a GT3RS and many guys here are looking at GT4's as well. No surprise here Sherlock.

What's comical is that you thought an $8,500 premium on a GT3 allocation was a deal.

no need for drama here... when most hear 2016, they think RS, not GT3, so I understand why there was confusion...

we all have fun with the chase for these, but its just a car, no need for insults, etc... may I suggest that there are many real problems in life and this is not one of them?

carbonbmw seems like a short term visitor here anyways...

Looks like the joke is on me. I thought for a fact I listed this as a GT3 but looks like in my original post I did not, now it all makes sense why people are asking me for a GT4 and GT3 RS LOL.

STG911, Just an FYI the dealership sold my allocation for 15 K over just to show you where this market is going

with so many "regular" GT3s out there, 15k over for a 16 allocation is crazy... but I guess if the market bears it...

I am one of many that got hosed on the first round of RS allocations... my dealer knows that I got hosed and offered a 16 GT3 at MSRP as a consolation, and they insist that there will be one more round of RS allocations. When they were "pitching" what a nice gesture this was, they told me that 16 allocations will be extremely limited, just a couple hundred or so. And although lava orange seems like a controversial color, they recommended speccing in that color, as it will be unique on the 991.1 gt3 to just those few units in 2016. Since it sounds like this allocation is still changeable in Chicago, my guess is that they are using some of this logic to justify an over MSRP charge. Still a punk move. 15k over. Wow.

Seems like the genius who paid 15K over must be smarter than the RL crowd here.

That 15K is lost the minute it drives off the lot on top of the depreciation that will be even worse by then.

Your posts seem odd to me. You even started a thread claiming how the values are tanking, yet sales like this are still happening. I could care less what happens to the value of the GT3, but it almost seems like you want to see it tank. How do you know the depreciation of the GT3 will be more than $15K in the next 6 months? Everything we're seeing doesn't support that. Sorry, I'm just trying to see where your coming from since you don't even own one. Are you just hopeful to get one at a discount down the road? I'm sure that will be possible, but there really is no need to try and convince everyone of a hopeful self fulfilling prophecy. After all, it is just a great performance car, not an investment.
