Lime Rock?

I like DE's in the rain. You have to concentrate on your line (wet line/looking for dry spots etc.) and you have to slow down. F1 still runs in the rain, so if they can why can't we?

Its all good. I'll be there on Thursday with Metro

Yes, Lime Rock with CVR. Thursday looks like it will be a nice day. Enjoy!

I used to run in every condition. There is a lot to learn but the stakes definitely go up. I now sit out rain as I don't see it worth the cost of gas to circle the track.

I used to race in the rain. Everyone should run on real rain slicks (not Hoosier wets) at least once. They defy physics.

But in the absence of a competitive environment and on proper tires, I don't see the learning/risk/cost trade off anymore.

I have a set of wets if I really feel the need, but need to really consider the pros and cons. Also consider the run offs at the track, if they're all grass, unless you are plowing turf, you're probably hitting the wall much faster than in the dry.

The idiots in charge will make you run with the windows open.
Bring a towel and some soap for the interior. I hope you have black seat belts.

I'm with TRAKCAR, black belts. And yes, they will make you keep the windows down.

I actually like racing/driving in the rain, lower threshold to practice control but the stakes do go up. Be aware of others who outdrive their skill level, more of those on a wet track.

Driving on the track when it's wet will show you how smooth you are. If you are anywhere near abrupt with throttle, brake or steering, you'll be sliding before you know it. If you're smooth with all these inputs, you'll be rewarded by keeping the car moving in the desired direction.

For those who want to learn all they can about performance driving, I highly encourage it!

^^this!

While I don't seek out rain days on track, I view them as an opportunity to lean. Last time I ran in the rain I learned the slick NT01's have a surprising amount of grip in the wet

There's wet and there's Florida Thunderstorm wet, I did a lot of aqua planning on new NT-01's last week.
My lap times were about a minute, minute and a half off LOL.

We don't get rain all that often, but ran in our regions 1st HPDE in April in the wet - absolutely astounded by both the car and the Cup2 tires performance in the wet. The car was able to keep up with, then run down a couple of AWD 991 TT's that were also out. Once one gets over one's initial trepidation, I'm finding Rain = fun.

Rain sucks. My very first track day was in a 996.3 in the rain at Watkins Glen. Those blue walls are very ominous in the rain. Good run off area's at LRP though...Drive slow.
