You shouldn't be surprised....probably worse now than in the past. Class envy warfare at its best.

As more and more cars eventually switch over to keyless entry/start, even the most immature among us will hopefully find better things to do with their time and sharp metal objects.

And the term "keying" will become as antiquated and obsolete as "pay phone"

Update -New thermostat arriving tomorrow. They will install, clear the codes and do a test drive. Does not seem like a big deal. What I would like to know is if the new thermostat is any different from the stock. I have a 2014 with 3200 miles and never tracked.

Not a big deal and you won't have anything to worry about going forward...hopefully.

Had my thermostat casing replaced two weeks ago. Just returned from LA to Vegas and back trip in over 100 temps and hour or so of no movement over the El Cajon pass. No temp. problems at all.

Waiting for my housing to come in from Germany after my thermostat was replaced. Jimmy and everyone else, I would not have much confidence that these "new" thermostats will be your last.
This thermostat is my sixth. The fist two were on the old engine. I got the new engine(3) and had that thermostat replaced (4). A day after it was replaced my SA informed me PAG was sending out a new, improved thermostat which I had them install(5, technically not a failure, but I hoped the new thermostat would solve the problem)
So this "new and improved" thermostat failed a couple of weeks ago. It has been replaced now (6) and the car is running and cooling fine. Annoying to say the least.

Well at least you qualify for lemon law if the need should arise!

I cant believe that it can only be a thermostat problem or housing. Seems weird to me.

Wow, this is very strange. There are cars that are fine with no thermostat replacements. Maybe it's something else leading to thermostat failure? I hope it gets resolved once and forever. It's ultimately not a big deal, I'd be very annoyed.

Can any one comment on this. They head mechanic who works on the 918 s is working on my car. I know in good hands but I am suspicious by nature

Exact same thing I was told. They also told me I might have to top off the next day. Checked the next day, and no need for.
