Made an inquiry about an RS. My salesperson said no soup for me.

Ferrari dealers are trying to protect from flippers yes.....however with the potential costs involved it remains to be seen on how enforceable these will be. The Ferrari dealer also had me sign a no export agreement and according to FNA are having little effect on the number of Ferrari exports either especially from Florida market.

Anyone who wishes to remain in good standing with FNA and their
local Ferrari dealer wouldn't flip a car anyway, knowing that if they
did it would be the last new car they would ever get.
However you can't stop those who are just in it for a flip and quick
money regardless of what they sign.

For low option cars, it can be worth it to pay over MSRP because the at MSRP cars specced by dealers or ballers will more more $$
I'm Peter and I'm a flipper.

Regarding the 488, you gain 100 hp and lose the Ferrari NA soul. No thanks. I think there are many 458 owners who have no interest in the 488. My prediction...the 488 will be a sales bomb compared to the 458.

488 seems to be doing very well already - most markets/dealers seem to be a 2 year wait at the moment. I know that's the case in Australia and at my local dealer in Greenwich when I got on the list about 6 to 9 months ago. That was based on them assuming that 2/3rds of the people on the list would pull out too...

Of course been like that for some time but that applies more to Ferrari than Porsche and the store I have been buying my F cars from for 20 years now believes that with Montezemolo gone, a couple years from now it won't be so hard to walk in off street to get one.

488 won't bomb.

As long as the cars are great it really doesn't matter to me.

However a significant portion of Ferrari owners are just poseurs (not tree huggers) who just need to be seen in the latest and greatest Ferrari, even if it's a turbo, so there are waitlists for the 488.

You and car commander are true car enthusiasts. I agree with you in that a 458/Speciale are the Ferraris to own and I plan to buy a 458 in two years after the prices have come down.

The 488 will have some more HP and a bunch more torque. I have had my 458 for 3 years, I would like something different anyway.
