I have seen lava in the flesh!

I thought is was just difficult to photograph as well until I saw it in person. Then I realized it was the careful lighting of the car at shows and in photographs that actually gave it a better appearance. In the flesh just doesn't do it for me.

LO may look better or worse under certain lighting and in certain photographs but it's hard to believe that the salmon pink aspect is a total illusion...there are times when it's going to look like that. Not having seen LO in person, if I were ordering a $200K GT3RS, just to be safe I'd definitely pick a different color.

I saw it live on a sunny day and the salmon pink is very prominent with none of the rich orangish hues from the auto show photos. It left me wanting either the original orange from the 997.1GT3RS or a Guards Red. The Lava orange looked very flat and although I could see how it might change it diff light, I don't think that it would change in natural light, only artificial. I think if they put the car in the showroom it would spectacular. I bought a Platinum silver 991 and had a similar effect. In Artificial light at the showroom it looked great, at night under the street lights looked great but as soon as I drove in off the lot under natural light it just flattened and lacked richness.
