FWIW, techs at porsche center in Atlanta strongly recommended against multipliers - they claimed differences in machining, lubrication and even ambient temp can make those add too much deviation from the spec.
For the record I have both a multiplier and have recently purchased the Precision torque wrench.
I pressed the techs at the Porsche Experience center on the multiplier topic. In the end the concern was change in torque as the multiplier ages, e.g. Falls out of calibration. If you are going to use a multiplier it needs to be in cal or at the very least very well maintained.
