Default Bypass color, what to do

GMG Bypass color, which one ?
My ARM is at the shop and almost done with detail and GMG bypass install. I have the oval stainless version and I'm not sure how much better black coated would look. My installer says the stainless doesn't match the car. I'm looking at about a cost of 500 get powder coated to black, includes the shipping and labor to uninstall then reinstall. How bad does the stainless look ? I'm happy with the single oval just thinking black would look better. Lastly this will delay me an addition 10 days, worth it ?

Like many of these things it comes down to your preference. I have GMG oval bypass but ordered it black powder coated. I feel it wouldn't look correct in stainless on my SBM. Personally I think the same about the ARM. That 10 day delay will drive you nuts but looking at it every time and wishing it were different I bet would be worse.

Thanks. Now I can see what GMG oval looks like In black. I think bypass stands out way less in black. In stainless it's very noticeable. Kind of like the stealth look.

Must go black or you will regret it.

Perhaps you can take it with the stainless oval. Then get it coated black later when you're away on vacation or business travel. IMO driving the car asap is your best option.

I would put the stock back on, send it out to be powdercoated and enjoy the car until it gets back.

My shop is going to send out the GMG bypass to a shop in North Carolina to get powder coated. This shop in NC is supposed to be the best at powder coating. I made my decision to be patient and get the car the way I want it. If I have learned anything, its patience.

Reason why I originally went with stainless was not having black wheels. After the bypass was on the car is when I realized it was contrasting too much with everything on the rear of the car. When powder coated black, the bypass blends in rather than contrasts. Hopefully those in the future will have this information to make the proper decision for themselves. I should have my car by the first week of August.

Powder coating will fail with the high exhaust heat. I can speak from experience. Do a ceramic coating.

I stand corrected about powder coating as it is being done by a race shop in NC. I will find out the name, but they are a well respected race shop. My shop is located in NY but they send all their exhaust parts to NC for coating.
