I think you might be underestimating the impact of the dealer lobby in each state......... Supposedly protecting dealers to protect consumers........

The dealership lobby is so full of crap. I'd take Tesla's direct sales model anytime, it was the best car buying experience we've ever had.

Porsche can not dictate to dealers, who are independent businessmen, what to charge for a particular vehicle. Once the dealer pays Porsche for a vehicle, at invoice, they (Porsche) have made their profit. If the dealer looses 5k on the retail sale or makes 50k, it is of no concern to Porsche.
